March 16 Commemorative Meetings Held Around the World

In March, meetings were held around the world to commemorate March 16, Kosen-rufu Day. This is a day which celebrates the mission of youth within the Soka Gakkai to strive for world peace.

On March 15, Nepal Soka Gakkai International youth held meetings throughout the country. In Kathmandu, participants discussed overcoming personal challenges based on Buddhist practice and President Daisaku Ikeda’s philosophy.

On March 16, in the town of Ouanaminthe in Haiti members marked the occasion with an online meeting, connecting people across the country, and an in-person gathering.  

In Italy, the day was marked with a commemorative general meeting held on March 16 in the city of Chianciano Terme on the last day of a national youth training course that was attended by some 1,000 members. The meeting was also live streamed.
